Dr. Trevor Hamilton is the Founder and President of Trevor Hamilton and Associates Center for Excellence. He has provided technical leadership to scores of relevant consulting assignments in his over 20 years of international practice. Prior to becoming a management consultant, Dr. Hamilton held senior managerial and professional positions in industry, trade and investment and economic development institutions.
Some of the highlights of his professional experience to date include:
Team Leader on the development of commercialization models for economic support services provided by the Local Government in Jamaica.
The development of the Small and Micro Enterprise Sector Policy for Jamaica, funded by USAID
Development of the National Community College System for Trinidad and Tobago, funded by the Caribbean Development Bank
Prior to becoming a renowned international consultant, Dr. Hamilton held senior professional and executive positions in the major regional and national corporate and economic development organizations in the Commonwealth Caribbean:
Vice President (General Superindent) in the Guyana bauxite industry, responsible for economic diversification, shelter program, and agriculture in the bauxite communities throughout Guyana.
Chief of Division at the Caribbean Common Market Secretariat. The programs spanned: industry, international transportation, tourism and technology.
Director/Advisor at the Jamaica National Economy Planning Institute (The Planning Institute of Jamaica) responsible for the Government of Jamaica’s World Bank Structural Adjustment Economic Program.
Dr. Hamilton is a Fellow of the British Institute of Management and the Jamaican Institute of Management. He holds a post-graduate Diploma in Management of Services from the University of California at Berkeley, a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Queens College of the City University of New York., a M.A. in Economics from Long Island University and a PhD in Economics from the New School for Social Research, New York.
